ANNA MEDAL

The Government of Tamil Nadu has instituted the 'Anna Medal for Gallantry' for Civilians/Government Servants for their conspicuous acts of gallantry in saving life, property etc. The applicants belonging to Tamil Nadu along are eligible for getting this award. ... Anna Medals for Gallantry awarded in a year shall be on an average of six medals, with three (3) medals for general public and three (3) for Government servants. There is no age limit for receipt of the medal. This award consists cheque for Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees one lakh only), a medal and a citation.

2. The Nominations are called for 'Anna Medal for Gallantry’ award for the year 2021. The nominations accompanying relevant documents for the conspicuous acts of gallantry should reach the Principal Secretary to Government, Public (General-I) Department, Secretariat, Chennai-600009 along with the recommendation of the District Collector concerned or through online mode by visiting the web site https://awards.tn.gov.in on or before 14.12.2020. The applications which are not received within the prescribed time will be rejected. The awardees will be selected by the selection committee constituted by the Govt. The medal will be presented to the awardee by the Hon’ble Chief Minister during the Republic Day Celebrations on 26th January, 2021.

KABIR PURASKAR

The “Kabir Puraskar” award for the act of social and communal harmony will be presented by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu every year during Republic Day Celebrations. Any Indian citizen residing in Tamil Nadu (other than members of the Armed Forces, Police Forces and Members recognized Fire Services, Government Servants, if the act performed by them falls in the sphere of their duty) are eligible for this award. .... The award is given for act of physical/moral courage and humanity exhibited by members of one community in saving the lives and properties of the members of another community during communal riots. This award consisting of three categories and the cheque for Rs.20,000/-, Rs.10,000/- and Rs.5,000/- with citation will be given to three persons respectively.

KOTTAI AMEER AWARD

The Government of Tamil Nadu has instituted an award by name “KOTTAI AMEER COMMUNAL HARMONY AWARD” and it is presented to a person who has done outstanding services to promote Communal harmony in Tamil Nadu by the Hon’ble Chief Minister during the Republic Day Celebrations. The award consists of a medal, a Demand Draft of Rs.25,000/- and a Certificate. Those who have done outstanding services to promote Communal harmony are eligible for this award and there is no age limit for the award. ...

The nominations accompanying relevant documents for the outstanding services to promote Communal harmony should reach the Principal Secretary to Government, Public Department, Chennai along with the recommendations of the District Collector concerned or through online by visiting the web site https://awards.tn.gov.in on or before 14.12.2020. The applications which are not received within the prescribed time will be rejected. The awardee will be selected by the Selection Committee constituted by the Government. The medal will be presented to the awardee by the Hon’ble Chief Minister during the Republic Day Celebrations on 26th January, 2021.
